Laura offers a variety of courses and workshops for writers of all ages. Since
she first offered it in January of 2008, her Junior Authors Creative Writing
Course has become popular at community centres and with home school groups.

In the Fall of 2009 Laura launched the course in a daytime, online, live format
which is a big hit with home learners both in the Lower Mainland and across Canada.

In January 2010, Laura will be launching some next-step courses for students who have
completed the Junior Authors Creative Writing Course. See the Level 2 course

Annual Writing Contest
The second annual Junior Authors Short Story Contest is an extension of this course and a project that
Laura is passionate about. There is nothing she enjoys more than helping young writers hone their craft.
Workshops
Laura is frequently asked to visit schools and do
2-hour writing workshops based on the course content. Some of these are: poetry writing, short story writing and
script writing. At the end of each of these workshops she uses examples from her own career to give the students an
honest but encouraging idea of just what it takes to break in to print.
