COURSE DESCRIPTION: If you are serious about seeing your work in print then this is the course for you. Take your writing and storytelling skills to the next level in this intensive ten hour camp. For two hours each day under the direction of Delta author and professional children’s storyteller, Laura Thomas, aka Agent Story, aspiring writers will journey step by step through the writing process from idea to editing. Ms. Thomas will also be available for one on one help outside of class time. By the last session participants will have an original, polished short story of not more than 1500 words that is properly formatted and ready to submit to a magazine.

The Short Story: From Idea to Publication
Online for Home Learners 10-17 Years (8 students max)
Prerequisite: Junior Authors Level 1 Creative Writing Course

WEDNESDAYS 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. PST/Vancouver Time
Cost: $157.50 per student (GST included)

8 classes / 12 hours of instruction plus one-on-one mentoring

Location: Laura's virtual classroom on WizIQ (note students should have high speed Internet access, speakers or a headset and a microphone for optional voice communication). Laura teaches this course live.

By the last session each participant will have an original, polished short story of no more than 2,000 words that is properly formatted and ready to submit to a magazine. Homework will be assigned each week and, as a bonus, Laura will be available for one-on-one help outside of class time. Please note this course is intended for emerging writers between the ages of 10 and 17 who are serious about seeing their work in print.

Over an intensive eight weeks we will journey together step by step through the writing process from idea to editing. By the last session each participant will have collection of 3-5 poems that are properly formatted and ready to submit to a magazine. Homework will be assigned each week and, as a bonus, Laura will be available for one-on-one help outside of class time. Please note this course is intended for emerging writers between the ages of 10 and 17 who are serious about seeing their work in print.
